When joining Troop 577 parents will need to complete the following steps and turn in as soon as possible so that their Scout can start to participate in events and outings.
#1-a New, Bridging or Transferring Scouts should Apply Online Either select that you will mail payment and we will handle or pay online and we will deduct the amount from the total registration fees for Troop 577.
#2 BSA Medical Forms parts A&B completed for any activity. Part C needs to be completed for all Scouts and Adults going on events 72 hours or more (3+ nights) like summer camp. Part C requires a Doctors review and signature.
#3 Troop 577 Annual Dues (Subject to change)
New Scout dues is $115 payable to “Troop 577”, generally $90 per year after first year.
Dues includes: BSA National fees, Boy's Life*, Scout Handbook, Basic Blue Neckerchief, Troop Hat and Troop Class-B (T-shirt), Name badge, Mother's sash upon first rank award, Bible, Scout Binder, also a Troop Neckerchief will be provided when First Class Rank is attained.
* add additional $10 for Boys Life Magazine to help offset cost.
#4 Emergency Contact form completed.
#5 Parent and Family Talent and Transportation form completed.
#6 Purchase Scout Uniform from the Scout Shop.

Webelos with khaki and green Boy Scout uniform
- You will only need to purchase new Troop numbers which you can get as a single patch from the Treasurer for $5.50.
New Scouts
- You will need to purchase the following uniform items:
- Boy Scout khaki shirt
- Boy Scout green/olive pants
- Boy Scout belt
- Boy Scout socks
- Boy Scout shoulder epaulletes (green/olive decoration for uniform shirt shoulders)
- Patches: US Flag, Council Patch, Troop numbers, etc.
Note: A single "577" Troop number patch is available from the Treasurer for $5.50.
#7 Adults in troop that come on outings or transport scouts will need to complete the BSA Youth protection training and re-validate it every 2 years. Login (or create login) at my.scouting, see details: LINK.
Adults that are going on trips longer than 3 nights need to complete an Adult application and background check form.
#8 Optional: Scouts & Adults in troop may wish to purchase a custom "Class C" Active Wear Shirt, contact Tara for details. Also Scouts may want to request to purchase a military compass, contact Ron Barber for details.
Deprecated Transfers: Please instead use printable form for transfers. BSA Youth Application (Printable) completed, if a transferring from a Pack or another Troop just mark "Transfer" on the form and only need to complete page 5. Remember to sign bottom and please mark "Boys Life Subscription" as it is planned in our fees.
